Hey how's it going everyone? This last 2 weeks have been pretty crazy. But I'm going to skip last week. But the beginning of this week were transfers and I'm still here in the country in Catarama but with a latino companion. So no more English- which is good. But the first half of the week was rough. I was puking and having to go to the bathroom a lot and didn't sleep very good. Wasn't a very productive few days.
I've really been struggling with the language. Still feel like I can't teach at all. But it was cool because there were 2 times where I felt really really stupid but my companion said he felt the spirit when I was sharing my testimony even though it felt really dumb. And I didn't even mention that I felt dumb. These girls we teach tried to give us hugs and it was sooooo awkward because we aren't supposed. So I'm pretty sure they hate us now.
We gave lots of blessings of health this week. (I still haven't given one because I don't know Spanish.) We talked to hermana Lola who wants to get baptized still but can't because she's not married to her basically husband. They've been together for 40 years.
2 cool things happened this week. Sunday was a really hard day with being sick and trying to lead my area and all and just lots of other stuff but that night my district leader called me and he could tell I wasn't great and he shared Joshua 1:9 and it was exactly what I needed to hear. Another cool thing was that Mauricio still hasnt prayed to know if the book of Mormon is true so I said a little prayer in my head to know what scripture I should share with him and the first scripture I found about prayer was exactly what he needed to hear (2 Nephi 32: 8,9).
This week was super hard but lots and lots of little things happened that strengthened my testimony of this gospel. I know that missionary work and sharing the gospel is the most important work on the earth and I know that God is here with me helping me grow and learn so that I can be a better missionary. Also while I was sick I watched Joseph Smith: prophet of the restoration. I would like to first say that I know that he was a prophet. I know that he saw God the father and the son Jesus Christ. I know that he translated the book of Mormon. Reviewing his life was very helpful because what he had to go through was so much harder than what I have to go through here during my mission.
But overall I'm doing good and I'm growing and learning lots. Hope you guys are doing well. Chao
