This week flew by.
A good amount of stuff happened. One morning an investigator invited us to go out and eat breakfast but he never showed up... Buttttt as we were walking we saw a lady pushing her motorcycle so we offered to help. As we were pushing we talked to her and turns out she was baltized in the church when she was younger but stopped going right after and now its been like 40 years. So we are going to visit her soon. We taught a guy named Olmedo and well he really tries to listen and learn but his house is scaryyyy. Its a little messy. But hes progressing so I guess we'll keep teaching him haha. We went to a members birthday party and we are also teaching there family but we watched "Joseph Smith prophet of the restoration" and it was cool because there was a lot of random people there that arnt members. We found a guy named Bryan in the streets and he is very interested and wants us to come back. He asked that if he accepted and believed everything we tought that if he could then join our church. And we said well duh ofcourse. He talked about how he had someone pass away about a month ago and he told us to come back because he felt something the night we contacted him in the streets. Something touched his heart he said which is super cool because we only shared a little about the Book Of Mormon with him. But yeah im excited and well see where it goes. We got to go to the temple and do some temple work. It was very hard in spanish but the temple worker was super cool. We were supposed to go with some recent comverts ( ibis, magarita y fatima) but they didnt show up. So we ended up going to the temple with just all the relief society sisters haha. Elder Espinoza the asistant to the president spent the day with us and well my stomach was not doing too well that day but dont worry i have recuperated in time for crepes and ice cream today. So you dont need to feel bad for me.
Spirtual thought:
Mosiah 7:33
... But if ye will turn to the Lord with full purpose of heart, and put your trust in him, and serve him with all diligence of mind, if ye do this, he will, according to his own will and pleasure, deliver you out of bondage
A few weeks ago I came across this sripture in my personal study. It was exactly what I needed to hear. I looked up the word bondage in the dictionary and it says "the state of being under the control of a force, influence or abstract power". Ive felt like that a good bit in the mission and well a lot of it is just because the mission is hard but its also because I haven't done my best to serve the Lord. We sometimes think that the world and what it has to offer can help us fix our problems or help us carry our burdens and sometimes they can for a certain amount of time but the best and lasting way is to serve the Lord and to do his will. To follow the Gosple Of Jesus Christ that God has given us. The Lord promises us that he will "deliver you out of Bondage" if we just "serve him with all diliegence of mind". And its very simple but sometimes its not easy. One simple way to "serve him with all diligence of mind" is by asking ourselves the simple question what would Christ do in this moment. I testify that as you do this, Christ can, and will, deliver you from your personal "bondage".
